Social Media Strategy
Have a Social Media Strategy?
Last week I was speaking with a group of entrepreneurs and shared their sentiments of what social media could be like for businesses:
stressful because knowing what content to post is hard
fearful because there’s a possibility people won’t “like” your content
hard to manage because there’s tons of hats you’re currently wearing
I went through the same emotions when creating a few of my businesses. However, I learned from the experts. Here’s what’s been helping me out (entrepreneurs and business leaders take note):
✓ Weekly Strategy
You should have a system where you can track all of the ideas you want to share and the dates when you’ll launch them. This way, when you get bogged down by emails and projects (and you will), you’ll have a system to fall back on
✓ Be Creative
Turn on the “creative switch” in your brain, open up the notes-app in your phone, and keep a running list of what to share. People are interested in your company (the brand, the current happenings, and behind the scenes work). People like to be a part of a journey, so creatively take them on one!
✓ Hire a Millennial
If you can afford to bring someone on part-time, bring on a millennial because chances are, they already know how to use each platform. Simply put the word out there on your social media, find someone in your network who can vouch for them, and finally ask to see their page. If they have a low following, that person is not your strategist.
✓ Strategy: Feed What Feeds You
This rule has helped me with my content strategy, as I learned to get the most out of one piece of content! I’m happy to share with you through a one hour coaching call. Just email me.
Social media platforms have become a gold-mine for business growth. Just like the gold-rush of past years, you don’t want to be late to the party, so get a strategy!
